The Galaxy Tab S8 series was the first tablet series from Samsung to receive the Android 13 update. It received the update three weeks ago, but only international units were supported. Now, the Android 13 update has begun rolling out to carrier-locked Galaxy Tab S8 devices in the United States.
The first to receive the Android 13 update on Xfinity Mobile’s network is the Galaxy Tab S8+ with firmware version X808USQU2BVK4. Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will soon receive a firmware update with the same version number ending in BVK4. The new software includes the November 2022 security patch, which addresses numerous security flaws.
Suppose you have a carrier-locked Galaxy Tab S8+ (SM-X808U) in the United States. In that case, you can download and install the Android 13 update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also manually flash the latest firmware file using the Odin tool by manually downloading it from our firmware database.
Samsung has released the Galaxy Tab S8 series with Android 12 pre-installed. A few months ago, all tablets in the lineup received the Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 update. The Galaxy Tab S8 series has begun receiving the One UI 5.0 update based on Android 13. It will receive at least two additional Android OS updates in the future.
