Ross Young, a reputable leaker with almost always dependable sources, tweeted in June that Apple is developing a 14-inch iPad for release in late 2022 or early 2023. “Development of the 14.1-inch iPad Pro has been confirmed by our supply chain sources.” It will be equipped with MiniLEDs and ProMotion. Not certain of the timing, but it is more likely to occur in early 2023 “authored by Young:
Confirmed the 14.1″ iPad Pro is being developed with our supply chain sources. It will have MiniLEDs and ProMotion. Not sure of the timing, but early 2023 may
be more likely.
Now, it appears that this rumor/leak is no longer true, as those insiders in the industry have changed their minds. Young was quoted by MacRumors as saying, “Apple no longer intends to release the new 14.1-inch form factor.” Young’s Twitter feed is devoid of information, so we must rely on MacRumors to obtain information directly from the source.
When will a 14-inch iPad Pro be released?
Even though the most recent rumors are discouraging, a 14-inch iPad Pro will likely be released in the future. Initially, there is a demand: Numerous iPad users and enthusiasts have stated that a larger iPad Pro would undoubtedly increase productivity.
The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is already Samsung’s largest tablet. This beast has a 14.6-inch Super AMOLED display, and despite its higher-than-average price, it has a substantial user base.
It would be natural for Apple to fill this “gap” in its product line to reduce the possibility of Apple fans seeking larger tablets defecting to Samsung. Speculatively, the 14-inch iPad Pro is experiencing production difficulties and has been postponed rather than canceled. We could still obtain it by the beginning of 2024. However, this is pure speculation. What are your thoughts on all of this? Do we require a 14-inch iPad Pro, and will we receive one?
