As promised, the product of Samsung’s collaboration with Maison Margiela, a French innovator in haute couture, has landed on store shelves around the world – sort of. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 Maison Margiela edition is an exclusive, limited-edition package that includes a customized version of Samsung’s iconic foldable along with several branded accessories.
The Korean tech giant uploaded an unboxing video to its official YouTube channel earlier this week. Everything from the packaging to the accessories to the smartphone itself has been redesigned by the design language of the French luxury brand.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 is now available in Margie’s signature white hue and features the brand’s recognizable “code.” The latter is a reference to Maison Margiela’s internal classification of product lineups. The user interface has also been modified to fit the new theme.
The number 11, which represents accessories, is encircled, indicating that the Flip is an authentic fashion item. The bungle consists of at least two cases with prominent Maison Margiela design elements.
The leather case has been painted to reflect the brand’s aesthetic, whereas the second case features Maison Margie’s coding ring. Both covers feature the four stitches that have become the fashion house’s trademark.
In addition to a USB-C cable, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 Maison Margiela comes with a charger. However, given its price, this is hardly surprising. The package will cost European consumers approximately €1,899 (approximately $2000).
This is one of the few Samsung limited edition products available internationally. The vast majority of packages of this type rarely leave South Korea. There is currently no indication of when (or if) the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 Maison Margiela will be released in the United States.
