The Galaxy S21 FE did not receive the Android 13 update until several weeks after the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. Even more affordable devices, such as the Galaxy A33 5G and Galaxy A52 5G, received the Android 13 update before the Galaxy S21 FE. Therefore, users of Samsung’s most recent Fan Edition phone, particularly those in India, were quite frustrated. Nonetheless, they can now rejoice.
In India, the Galaxy S21 FE has received the Android 13 update. The update brings One UI 5.0 to the device with firmware version G990EXXU3DVK4. However, it is limited to the October 2022 security patch and does not receive the November 2022 update. Users of the Galaxy S21 FE in India can install the latest update by navigating to Settings » Software update and clicking Download and install. You can also download the most recent firmware file and manually flash it.
The Galaxy S21 FE European variant received the update two weeks ago. Even some carrier-locked handsets received the One UI 5.0 update in the United States. In Canada, China, and the United States, the update is not yet available for unlocked smartphone models.
Samsung released the Galaxy S21 FE with Android 12 early in 2022. It has received one of the four major Android OS updates promised by the manufacturer. It will receive three additional Android OS updates (up to Android 16) in the future.
