Get the first gaming monitor from Razer for $699.
Razer is best known for its vast selection of gaming-oriented mice, keyboards, and headsets, but it now wants you to associate its name with high-end gaming monitors as well. The “Raptor 27″ gaming display from Razer is now available for purchase.
The monitor was announced in January, but today is the first day that you can purchase one. The nine-month delay between its announcement and release has not resulted in many changes, for better or for worse.
It retains ultra-thin bezels, RGB lighting, and Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync support. One of the more gamer-friendly features of the Raptor 27 is its stand, which can be tilted back at a 90-degree angle to facilitate access to the monitor’s connectivity ports.
In terms of concrete specifications, the Raptor 27 is a 27” device, as its name suggests. It features a 2560x1440p, IPS panel with a refresh rate of 144Hz and a response time between 1 and 7 milliseconds, depending on the monitor settings. The HDR400-certified Raptor 27 has 420 nits of brightness and a contrast ratio of 1000:1.
Razer also claims that the Raptor 27 has an integrated CNC cable management system, which runs through the back of the stand. The Raptor 27 features one HDMI 2.0b port, one USB C port, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, and a headphone jack.
If all of this sounds appealing, you can purchase the Raptor 27 from Razer’s website (or your preferred retailer) for $699.
