Microsoft’s impressive (yet expensive) all-in-one is almost ready for release across the pond.
The Surface Studio 2 is now available for preorder in the United Kingdom, with prices beginning at £3,549. (opens in new tab). In addition, Microsoft is including a free pair of Surface Headphones for early adopters who preorder the device.
Today only preorders are available, but you won’t have to wait long to obtain a Surface Studio 2. The release dates for all three variants are scheduled for February 2.
Surface Studio 2 was initially introduced alongside Surface Pro 6, Surface Laptop 2, and Surface Headphones in October. The exterior of the all-in-one PC is largely identical to its predecessor, with the addition of a USB-C port.
On the inside, however, Microsoft has added a substantial amount of power. The Surface Studio 2 is now available with a 7th-generation Intel Core i7-7820HQ processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics. These are not the most recent technologies from Intel or NVIDIA, but they are significant improvements over the original Surface Studio’s 6th Gen Intel processor and GTX 980M graphics.
The base model costs £3,549 and includes 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. For £4,249, you can upgrade to 32GB of RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics, and for £4,749, you can obtain 2TB of storage.
