Samsung is in the process of creating a new power bank, which could be introduced around the same time as the Galaxy S23 series, if not earlier. To further complicate matters, the company appears to have filed documents to trademark two names.
Samsung filed a trademark application for “Superfast Portable Power” last month. This month, Samsung filed another trademark application, this time for “Superfast Power Pack.”
This trademark was submitted on December 1 and corresponds to the classification “battery chargers for mobile devices; mobile device battery packs.”
Samsung looking for the best name for a power bank
This could mean one of two things: either Samsung is developing two power banks with similar “Superfast” characteristics, or the company has trademarked two names for the same product but intends to use only one. Recent trademark registrations have surfaced at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Assuming Samsung is developing two power banks, at least one of them (shown in the featured image) has had some of its specifications previously leaked. It has a model number of “EB-P3400,” a capacity of 10,000mAh, and is capable of 25W rapid charging. One color option, beige, was also leaked in press renders and should be one of the color options for the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
It is unknown whether the EB-P3400 will be marketed as the “Superfast Power Pack” or the “Superfast Portable Power,” but we will keep you informed as soon as we learn more. Samsung is planning to release at least one new external power bank for Galaxy device owners, so this is something to anticipate. And if you’re looking for a power bank immediately and can’t wait, you’re likely to find discounts on existing Samsung accessories during the holiday shopping season.
