When it comes to firmware updates, Samsung tablets typically receive less attention than Galaxy smartphones, but this year has been a bit different. One UI 5.0 has already been implemented on the Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S8 lineups, and Samsung is now removing another device from its update roadmap. The release of Android 13 and One UI 5.0 for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has begun.
Alternatively, Samsung has released One UI 5.0 for the 2022 refresh of the Tab S6 Lite LTE, model number SM-P619, with model number SM-P619. The firmware update, identified by version number P619XXU1BVK6, contains the November 2022 security patch. As of this writing, the update is only available in France, but Samsung will likely roll out the firmware to additional European nations shortly.
UI acceleration, enhanced productivity, and multitasking
Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) users who update to One UI 5.0 should observe a performance boost, a slightly redesigned settings app, a new lock screen customization menu, improved background app management, and various other minor enhancements. Additionally, they gain access to multi-window gestures that make multitasking a delight.
Android 13 is currently only available for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite LTE (2022), but the Wi-Fi model (SM-P613) should receive the same update. Similarly, even though the 2022 refresh shipped with Android 12, One UI 5.0 should also become available for the original 2020 Tab S6 Lite models (SM-P610 / SM-P615) The latter shipped with Android 10, and it is now evident that the 2022 update has a higher priority in Samsung’s One UI 5.0 release plans.
The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite LTE (2022) should be able to be updated to Android 13 by opening the Settings app, navigating to “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” Download the official firmware files from our website if you prefer manual updates via a PC.
