Motorola is preparing to launch its next flagship phone, the Motorola Edge 40 Pro, about which we recently learned more thanks to an FCC certification. However, aside from a few details about the phone’s specifications, little was known about its design up until this point.
However, thanks to recently leaked high-quality renders, we now have an idea of how the front and back of the Motorola Edge 40 Pro will appear. The renders were provided exclusively to MySmartPrice by the well-known and trustworthy leaker OnLeaks, and they depict a revamped appearance for the upcoming Motorola flagship.
Conceptual images of the Motorola Edge 40 Pro
The images depict a new back panel with an entirely different camera island than the Motorola Edge 30 Pro (also known as the Motorola Edge Plus), which was introduced in January of this year. Instead of an elongated housing with three cameras below each other, the camera system on the Edge 40 Pro will be arranged in a square shape.
The renders aren’t definitive, but based on the September release of Motorola’s Edge 30 lineup, it’s likely that the back panel is made of glass. Given that the Edge Plus had a plastic back, this would represent a further design improvement.
Turning the phone to its front reveals its rumored 6.67-inch curved display with a single hole for the front-facing camera. According to OnLeaks, the dimensions of the Edge 40 Pro will be 6.35 x 2.90 x 0.33 inches (161.3 x 73.9 x 8.6mm), but the weight is unknown.
There is a good chance that the frame will be made of metal, which would complement the new glass back panel to create a more premium feel in the hand.
Additional Motorola Edge 40 details
There are a few hints regarding the specifications of the Motorola Edge 40. First, thanks to its FCC certification, we are aware that it will be capable of 125W charging speeds. It is also claimed to support wireless and reverse wireless charging, although the speeds are not specified.
In addition, we know that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will power Motorola’s newest high-end smartphone. Moreover, the display is advertised as having a refresh rate of 165Hz, which is insanely fast and almost excessive. When combined with the anticipated maximum of 12GB of RAM, the Edge 40 Pro becomes a highly capable device.
The cameras are rumored to have a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 12MP telephoto sensor. The front-facing camera is reportedly 60MP. Given that we’re discussing a Motorola, we can also anticipate a battery that lasts for more than enough hours.
