The 15-inch MacBook Air is anticipated to debut in 2023.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is rumored to be planning a 15-inch MacBook Air for 2023, but no longer intends to release the 12-inch model anytime soon (opens in new tab).
Gurman mentions a 15-inch MacBook Air when discussing Apple’s Mac lineup in 2023, which is expected to include new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max. This would be the first MacBook Air with a display larger than 13.3 inches; rumors of a 15.5-inch display surfaced last year.
Gurman also mentions that the anticipated 12-inch MacBook is “no longer on Apple’s near-term road map,” indicating that a smaller Apple laptop will not be released shortly. Nevertheless, as previously reported, it may not arrive until early 2024. It would be the company’s smallest laptop since the 12-inch MacBook debuted in 2015 and was discontinued by Apple in 2019.
Apple analysts Ming-Chi Kuo and Mark Gurman have predicted that the new 15-inch model will debut in the spring of 2023, which means we could see it at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June.
We anticipate it to resemble the M2 MacBook Air, as it was only recently redesigned. However, rumor has it that it will be comparable in size to the 16-inch MacBook Pro, retaining its usual characteristics such as its thin and light design.
Gurman asserts that this year will be all about Apple’s AR/VR headset, although it is uncertain what Apple will announce in 2023. The AR/VR headset has been delayed due to a couple of “issues,” according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo on Twitter. The AR/VR headset is expected to debut at Apple’s spring event or WWDC in 2023.
