Google has unveiled a multitude of new features for Android smartphones and tablets. Additionally, a few features for Wear OS-based smartwatches were revealed. All of these features will soon be available on Galaxy smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches by Samsung. These include a system-wide Reading Mode, an enhanced Google Cast, the ability to share Digital Car Keys, new collage styles in the Google Photos app, responses to specific messages in Google Messages, new emoji mashups, and improved security prompts.
The Reading Mode app can be downloaded from the Play Store on any Android smartphone or tablet. It extracts text from any app or website and displays it ad- and pop-up-free. Additionally, you can modify the font, font size, line spacing, and background color, and toggle between dark and light modes. It can also convert text to speech using Android’s Text To Speech feature, allowing you to select the playback speed and voice (English, French, Italian, or Spanish) for the selected text. This accessibility-focused application is compatible with all Android 9.0 and later devices.
With the new Google TV application, you can cast any video with a single tap and continue to browse other content. The application can be used as a remote for an Android TV or Google TV-based smart television that is compatible. Google is also facilitating the secure sharing of Digital Car Keys via the Google Wallet app, which is compatible with both Android and iOS. Regarding account security, Google apps will now display a safety alert that you can tap to take the recommended steps for securing your account.
The talented artists DABSMYLA and Yao Cheng have added new collage styles to Google Photos. The Google Messages app is also receiving minor enhancements, such as the ability to reply to a specific message and see which message you’re replying to, so you’ll always know where the conversation started and where it’s headed. Google is adding more emoji mashups to the Google Keyboard app through the Emoji Kitchen feature.
