Flighty, which was first previewed at the iPhone event in September, is now rolling out comprehensive Live Activities and Dynamic Island support alongside the release of iOS 16.1.
When you use Flighty, a live activity for your upcoming flight starts three hours before departure. This means you can easily track your flight status, including delays and gate changes, from the iPhone 14 Pro’s Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.
All iPhone models running iOS 16.1 or later now have Live Activity support. This means that your current flight is always visible on the lock screen and in Notification Center.
The Live Activity UI also appears in the Dynamic Island and in the dimmed Always-On Lock Screen state for iPhone 14 Pro users.
Flighty includes all of your flight’s important information, such as ETA, boarding gate, time, seat number, and more.
Flighty updates the activity to estimate flight progress visually after you take off, even if you don’t have internet access. The compact Dynamic Island interface includes a dynamically updating countdown to departure and the gate number.
When something significant happens with your flight, such as an ETA delay, the Live Activity banner will expand from the top of the screen to keep you informed.
