Eve Systems, a smart home company, today announced the release of two new HomeKit-enabled products, the Eve Outdoor Cam and the Eve MotionBlinds.
The Eve Outdoor Cam is a floodlight camera that works with HomeKit Secure Video and offers 10 days of storage with an iCloud+ subscription starting at $0.99 per month. The Eve Outdoor Cam is privacy-focused thanks to HomeKit Secure Video, and access is fully encrypted whether you’re viewing the camera footage locally or remotely using a home hub.
Eve Outdoor Cam has IP55 water and dust resistance, a matte black metal frame, and opaque white glass for the light component. It has a 1080p camera with a 157-degree field of view and can be wall-mounted using a three-axis hinge. It has infrared night vision and supports two-way communication via the built-in microphone and speaker.
Users can receive notifications when motion is detected, and the camera can detect people, animals, vehicles, and package deliveries for tailored alerts using HomeKit Secure Video.
In addition to the Eve Outdoor Cam, Eve is launching the Eve MotionBlinds in collaboration with window coverings company Coulisse. MotionBlinds are HomeKit-connected roller shades that provide better responsiveness and reliability than other smart blind solutions due to their simple setup and Thread connectivity.
The MotionBlinds have a rechargeable battery-powered motor and support on-device schedules for precise positioning throughout the day. Eve claims that the MotionBlinds use direct communication without relying on the cloud for privacy, with all data stored on the blinds themselves.
The MotionBlinds have a manual control feature and can be lowered with a simple pull, in addition to smart connectivity.
The Eve Outdoor Cam will be available from Eve and Amazon on April 5, 2022. The price will be $249.95. The Eve MotionBlinds are now available from Coulisse resellers, with more information available on the Eve website.
