Nerf Slingfire Review – Nerf Slingfire Mod – Nerf Zombie Strike Slingfire Review

Besides the Hammerstrike, the Nerf Zombie Strike Slingfire is probably the coolest existing Nerf Gun of the Zombie Strike series. It is modeled after Winchester’s famous Wild West repeats and is distinguished from other series blasters in its painting.

True, the classic neon zombie green prevails, but right on brown for the handle and black and orange accents. The hand-winding and the zombie logo on the wooden design handle are also a real highlight. The Nerf Slingfire promises the ultimate cowboy versus zombie action and the cool recharge with just one hand.

Design and ergonomics

The special feature of the Nerf Slingfire is its unique priming mechanism (elevator mechanism to the sharpness), just like the Winchester is under the handle a long curved strap which we must push down to the magazine and then a bit further. After each shot, the handle is pressed back and forth for loading.

The stirrup is designed so that you can push three fingers and have its pointer finger on the trigger. The handling of the Zombie Strike Slingfire is at first uncomfortable, but one feels relatively fast, and the recharge succeeds with some exercise liquid. The Nerf Slingfire uses a 6-dart magazine.

The beauty of the Slingfire is that it uses the standard clip, so all conventional magazines fit in, even a drum magazine can be easily adapted. 25 darts are much better than 6. Of course, the Nerf Gun comes with a Tactical Rail (rail for equipment) for further modifying possibilities.

Like the Best Nerf guns, the Zombie Strike Slingfire has a small opening on the top using the jammed darts to be solved. The plastic at the bottom of the barrel to the magazine chamber is unfortunately held in black, so you can not follow the loading process.

The rear sight at the end of the barrel is relatively high, but we find it good. It ensures that you aim at something higher than needed, which balances the ballistic track.

Handling and performance

The Nerf Slingfire is a good Nerf Gun which is fun to use when you get used to it. Very small children will probably not be happy with her because of the reloading movement and the inappropriate distances for her.

There is a big minus for the Zombie Strike Slingfire only of the danger of pinching the pointer finger. This also happens with high probability, if one is not careful or still untrained. The tensioning with only one hand does not run as smoothly as it should because the strap has to be pressed again 20 degrees forward than felt.

Away from the fun, the Nerf Slingfire is a solid Nerf Gun. It is super-processed, offers the best material and good design. However, pure values such as range and goal accuracy speak less for them. Here some blasters of the elite series cut off better. So the Zombie Strike Slingfire arrives at an average of 10 meters (straight) and a maximum of 18 meters (angled). The values promised by Hasbro we could not reach, as with so far no Nerf Gun.

The hit accuracy is also rather average, and because of the funky repeating mechanism, the fire rate is only 1.5 darts the second.

Nerf Slingfire Mod

The Nerf Zombie Strike Slingfire is a good nerf gun, but you will probably not buy it because of its outstanding performance. Much more important is the fun factor with swirling blaster clay pigeon shooting on zombies. All those who are concerned about LARP, modding or entertainment, can safely access.
