Nerf Jolt review – Nerf Jolt Mod – Nerf N-Strike Elite Jolt Blaster

The Nerf Jolt is probably one of the most compact blaster ever. It fits almost even in a pocket. The question is, however, that such a tiny pistol can afford. If you compare it with all the other best Nerf guns, cannot get too much, right? Wait. For the office, the Jolt is already perfect, so much ahead.

This ultra-compact Nerf gun is small – very small. It is only about 10 centimeters long. It is gray/white/blue/orange colored and very handy. Tactical Rails there are, of course, none and also there is not much to mention here. Small, compact blaster.

The Nerf N Strike Jolt does not need batteries. It is manually tensioned by pulling the lever located on the underside of the handle. To load, you simply put one of the two darts included in the barrel.

Blasterparts supplies a set for the Jolt to improve performance. To do this, you must, of course, dismantle the part, to be able to install guide bush as well as spring – that should only make if you know, what you do. If you do not care, the blaster can be damaged.

The smallest blaster in all Nerf series, the Nerf N-Strike Elite Jolt, is still an ingenious emergency weapon, especially for HvZ players and now available in the elite version. It was also a lot of confusion whether the Nerf Jolt was an elite or not.

The Nerf Jolt is reloaded after each shot and has neither a magazine nor a Tactical Rail. Their purpose is to be small and easy to conceal, which makes them outstanding. It is also safe enough to carry them with you. It is a fanatical backup blaster and serves as an emergency solution when the magazine’s larger Nerf Gun is shot.

HvZ (Human vs. Zombie) player is pleased with this, as you can escape the evil zombie.

Ergonomics and design

The reason for the confusion around the series of the Nerf Jolt is their paint job or the logo because the N-Strike Elite Jolt comes in blue-white like most elites nerf guns, but on the blaster and the packaging is only N- Strike without the addition Elite and the old N-Strike logo. We clarify the successor of the N-Strike Jolt Ex-1 is indeed elite.

Hasbro has donated a new and stronger spring as well as two elite darts, which have better accuracy than the N-Strike darts. The Nerf Gun also has two reliefs; the one is “N-Strike” and the other “Jolt” (handle and barrel).

Since the handle of the Nerf Jolt is too small for adults, it is lengthened by two gray bars/stitches downwards so that you can place a finger more comfortably on the handle (usually Ringfinger) and the Jolt is more comfortable in hand.

As usual, the trigger in the USA variant is gray instead of orange since in the USA other guideline values apply for the strength (kinetic energy on impact) of the darts. That is why all the blasters available on land are weaker on the chest. More on this topic can be found on our Blog.

Handling and performance

Even if the trigger is too tight for adults, the trigger is easy to reach, so it is neither too close nor too far away. The priming (sharpening) of the Nerf N-Strike Elite Jolt takes place by pulling out the red plastic piece at the end of the handle.

This can be easily grasped because you can drag it by a bridge between the pointing finger and the middle finger, but it offers some resistance and children might feel it as exhausting. We suspect this is due to the stronger spring being tensioned.

We are rewarded for the effort with much better range and accuracy than the old Nerf Jolt Ex-1. On average, the range is now about 14 meters, which is neat for this blaster size. The results vary between 9 and 18.5 meters. Angled, it brings the new Jolt even to 17.6 meters on average. The old version was on average at 12.80 meters and did not reach the 15.5 meters mark.

The fire rate, of course, is not very high and depends on the shooter rather than anything else. We believe 0.5 darts per second are possible if you have the darts handle readily.

Nerf Jolt Mod

In terms of Nerf Modding cannot be done with the Jolt. There is no Tactical Rail – that is surely no surprise. A pistol rarely has telescopes or bones. Shoulder rests, and barrel extensions can also not be inserted here.

Conclusion for the Nerf N-Strike Jolt

We are surprised by the quality of this “chirping cricket” and find it makes your job much better than the Nerf Zombie Strike Sidestrike, which is too big for a sub-blaster and too bad for the main blaster.

For the price, you get an emergency solution with an excellent range, which is easy to stow away.
