If you have already read a few other reviews on the new Star Wars series, you know that not all Nerf Star Wars guns are the yellow of the egg. Let’s see what Chewbacca’s bowcaster looks like – by the way: the bowcaster is compact – just like Chewbacca’s crossbow. Do not expect a massive Nerf rifle.

Nerf Chewbacca Bowcaster Mod
Nerf Star Wars Episode VII Chewbacca Bowcaster
Chewy ! Hero of our childhood! Now there is finally his bow tightener as Nerf Blaster! The loyal companion of Han Solo is still very fast for his 200 years with his Wookie-Bogenspanner, and we are “strained” whether we do so synonymous. After all, the Star Wars Chewbacca Bowcaster is dependent on its string; there are neither feathers nor any internal mechanisms. The advantage – the blaster, is quiet.
Although the episode VII Chewbacca Bowcaster is made for Wookie hands, its dimensions are really small and orientated to children, which makes it less suitable for reenactment. The colors in orange and gray do not correspond to the file template. A pity, because the Stormtrooper Blaster come close to the original.
Like the movie original Chewies Bowcaster comes with a targeting device, which is, however, only waste paper, because one can not look through. Also included are five green (!) Rebel darts, a dart bracket, and a shoulder rest.
Nerf Star Wars Chewbacca Bowcaster design and ergonomics
Although we can not find any space for the left hand, the pistol grip and trigger is large enough for adults, even tensioning is easy and easy. We liked the fact that the dart is placed in a guide which prevents the failure very well. But the performance of the bowcaster does not have to make any illusions, of course, the clamping is very time-consuming, and for other Nerf guns, you are cannon fodder.
Really to complain about, we have only the Nerf Gun design, the quality is not the best (the shoulder rest is open and hollow on one side) and the color does not make a Star Wars fan happy, but someone is eight years old (minimum age recommendation) will be a little disturbing. For the little ones, however, the Star Wars Chewbacca Bowcaster should be preassembled, because the shoulder support can be installed wrong and it is not detachable.
The dart bracket is attached to the right side and works only on the Nerf Bowcaster (drops slightly), but the target is pushed normal to the Tac Rail.
Range and handling of the Nerf Chewbacca Bowcaster
The performance is as expected not breathtaking, we fire the Dart about 8.60 meters far (straight held) and the ballistic course is very strongly pronounced. With angled Blaster, we get a little more out and come to barely 12 meters. The recharge is based on your skill, but it can be done in 3-4 seconds. Since there is no magazine, you first have to tension the tendon and then take the dart from the mount and insert.
The weak string maybe could be replaced by modding against something with more bums. At the moment, a slow flight speed of 16 meters per second is achieved. A stronger tendon would improve range and flight stability.
Conclusion for the test of the Star Wars Episode VII Chewbacca Bowcaster
If you do not want to buy the bowcaster for your child, you should not buy it. It is a good first Nerf Gun without annoying engine noise, and the number of darts that can be distributed in the living room is limited.
With the Nerf Rebels from the Starwars series, you get a styling product, which does not provide any remarkable achievements. It is the same with the Nerf Star Wars Chewbacca Bowcaster. With its range of only 6 meters and the rather low accuracy, you get no Nerf Gun, with which one achieved in the battle victories.
So if you’re just a Star Wars fan, and if the original look is important, you can buy this Nerf Gun.
However, if you are looking for power, security, and punch, you should look around here: The best Nerfs – these models have more to offer on the level.
The Star Wars Chewbacca Blaster is not suitable for competing purposes like HvZ or Nerf battles.
