Nerf Centurion Review – Nerf Centurion Mod – Nerf Mega Centurion Review

This time it is about the Nerf Mega Centurion, the giant Nerf Sniper, the mega darts. This is one of the most expensive nerf guns you can buy. Now let’s see if the purchase is worthwhile.

By the way: There is a USA version and a European version. The European version is recognizable by the gray print – it is throttled and does not make it to the 31 meters, which creates the USA version with the orange print. We also refer to the EU version only.

The Nerf Mega Centurion is available in two different versions. In the normal we find orange, red and gray – the design we find quite ok. This model is hardly available anyway. What you can still buy is Sonic-Ice-Edition. In the USA shops still in stock and the appearance we like better. The majority of the housing consists of half-transparent blue, the remainder being dyed white, gray and orange. The Nerf N Strike EliteMega Centurion looks extremely powerful with its length of 1.05 meters. On top of the weapon is a Tactical Rail, under the barrel the second, on which the supplied Zweibein can be put on. Rear sight and grain are available and differ in color.

This is a blaster, which is manually tensioned and therefore does not need batteries. The Nerf Mega Centurion Sonic Ice is shot when the huge lever is pulled back on the right side of the rifle. The Mega Centurion can be operated in single shot mode. As usual, there is a flap on the weapon that can be used to remove jammed darts and load inhibitions.

In terms of Nerf Tuning, there is, unfortunately, nothing for the Nerf Mega Centurion, which could offer Blasterparts. I do not imagine the conversion of this giant very easy. In any case, there is no replacement spring for optimizing the range.

Nerf Centurion – The N-Strike Elite MEGA Sniper

What would be an Elite MEGA Series without a Nerf Sniper? Correct: Incomplete! The N-Strike Elite Nerf MEGA Centurion is the right choice if you do not want to be a Nerf Stryfe like a Sniper.

Reasons for buying and selling a Nerf MEGA Centurion can be found here as usual in our best nerf guns review!

Design and ergonomics

The Elite MEGA Centurion Nerf Sniper is slightly longer than the N-Strike Longstrike and therefore the longest Nerf on the market. So if you’re still quite young, it might be that this blaster is even bigger than you. But do not worry: at some point, you leave the Centurion behind you, at least as far as size is concerned.

In the package, you will find the Blaster itself, two legs for attaching to a Tactical Rail, a front-runner, the loading pin, the magazine and the Nerf MEGA Dartpfeile. Also is also a construction manual (since the Nerf Centurion in individual parts comes) as well as general information contained in the package. The assembly instructions are however rather an obligatory kind since the assembly is done quite intuitively and in nullkommanix.

The Nerf MEGA Centurion is available in two different colors. On the one hand in the classically cool red Elite MEGA design and on the other hand in a blue design. In 2014 the Centurion also emerged in the Sonic Ice series in the transparent ice blue. The MEGA darts are also available in other colors – with a blue body and an orange cap. Worth mentioning at this point is that the Sonic-Ice version is slightly more expensive than the red N-Strike Elite MEGA version.

As we already know from the Longshot CS-6 and other blasters, the magazine can be easily inserted and removed again. On top of the Blaster, you will find a tactical running track on which you can place a target telescope, for example. This is not included in the package. Say you can either take a scope from your Nerf collection or buy an extra. In contrast to the N-Strike Longshot, the shoulder support is fixed and thus not adjustable. We find this personally very unfortunate, as this adjustment option offers the option to adjust the blaster individually to its size and situation.

On the blaster, you can also find the possibility to put a shoulder strap, which is not a bad idea of Hasbro because of the size! Nevertheless, it may be that the little ones among us will have difficulties to handle this huge thing. But Hasbro also thought of this, because it supplies an external, that is, additional tripod/twin with, which you can attach to the Tactical Rail at the bottom of the run extension. Since the Zweibein is external, you can infect it also with other Nerf Guns.

Furthermore, you will find a small slider at the top of the Nerf Mega Centurion, which allows you to release jammed darts. A jam did not happen in our tests. Nevertheless, it is mentioned in the case that you need it once. Since an additional target range is not included, you can use the added rear sight and grain to aim. Up to a certain distance, this is quite sufficient – that is, if you can talk about goals in nerfs at all. Since there are better and worse models.

Handling and performance

As already mentioned, the Centurion magazine is easy to use and easy to remove. However, it should be noted that it is much bigger than the magazine for the Elite Darts. This could make it a little harder for those with small hands.

What we find cool is the return that comes from the shot. You have the feeling that Wums is behind it. Unfortunately, this does not say anything about the range. The range of the N-Strike Elite MEGA Centurion is here and there gladly times with 30 meters. Our perfect top shot with an angled attitude landed at 23 meters. Since this was the exception and we landed at an average of 20 meters, we also take the 20 meters into the statistics. When we were just shooting, we reached an average range of 15 meters.

What we have already mentioned in the Rotofury and other elite MEGA blasters is the whistling of the darts when you shoot them out of the barrel of your blaster. If enough of these darts whistle through the air, you can feel like in a Star Wars movie. The sound is very similar to that of the laser blaster from the film series.

Regarding accuracy, the Nerf Centurion is not much better than many other blasters. We would, therefore, regard the performance as an average. What is worth mentioning is the long way you have to go back and forward the load pins to load a dart in the barrel. This costs valuable time and reduces the rate of fire, but this creates a very cool LAde feeling.

Nerf Centurion Mod

The Nerf Mega Centurion has 2 Tactical Rails. On the upper, you can attach target poles, red-point targets, and shields – all the things that make sense on Nerf weapons. At the rear of the giant barrel is a second Tactical Rail at the bottom. You can reinstate what you want – a second grip does not make much sense, but the Nerf N Strike Elite Mega Centurion is too long. The best thing to do is to have the dubbed bundle included. This can be folded in and out. When folded down, it can be carried on the lower rail always unobtrusively. Very well thought!

Even though the Nerf Mega Centurion ‘s hard for the Little Nerf (under ten years) fans due to the size, they would certainly make big eyes when they see this MEGA Blaster. A lot of fun can be with the Ner Mega Centurion in any case. Also for Live-Rollenspiele and Cosplay, this Nerf Sniper is very good!

We would not want to say much about the price/performance ratio since this is usually individual and every one has its pain threshold somewhere else. The Nerf MEGA Centurion is certainly not the most favorable Nerf and belongs rather to the upper price segment, which is why it can make sense to make price comparisons. Also, you could consider a smaller Nerf-like for example the Stryfen for less money to buy and to upgrade them with additional kits to a Nerf Sniper. But frankly, the extra parts would cost money, and the Nerf Centurion comes at least as a finished Nerf Sniper.

In short: we like the Nerf MEGA Centurion. However, we would not want to keep you from what we did not like and which may help you with your purchase decision: The loading bolt is also known from other Nerf blasters and can also be found on the Longshot CS-6and the Longstrike. In contrast to these named Nerf Sniper blasters, where the loading path is quite short, he is very, very long at the Nerf Centurion. This reduces the fire rate on the one hand, and on the contrary, you have to use a little more effort than before. Just in Nerf Battles, it is just the opposite of what you want. Furthermore, we find it not good that once the running extension is attached to the N-Strike Elite MEGA Centurion, it is no longer detachable. It sits bomb-proof and makes a simple transport or later stowing in your room also quite difficult. After all, the thing is longer than a meter. What is also missing is a second grip as we have with the Longshot CS-6. Just with this length of a blaster would make sense. Therefore, the Nerf Centurion is more suitable as a stationary Nerf Sniper. So look for a perfect place to shoot, so you do not have to change your location all the time. For shooting from the stand or moving there are better blasters.

Nevertheless, let us mention that this blaster favors us – not least because it is one of the few nerfs guns available as a finished Nerf Sniper. The N-Strike Elite MEGA Centurion will be more for real lovers or actual sniper enthusiasts.
