What is an aerocart?
A standard aerocart has a loading surface or trough, which is also referred to as a trough. Depending on the design of the model, such a cart is suitable for various work purposes. Care and cleaning tips
As is often, care must not be neglected in the case of the aerocart, especially if you transport liquid goods such as mortar or concrete. Dirt otherwise settles from time to time, attacks the coating of the trough and makes loading or unloading more difficult. If you have only moved branches and foliage, you usually need a brush or a broom. Some water dissolves adhesive residues in the galvanized tub of the garden cart.
However, after a long working time with liquid building materials such as cement, more efficient methods have to be taken, in particular, to clean a metal substructure.
Do not use a hammer or the like to remove stubborn adherence, as the tubing will not only dented but also damage the zinc coating and make the aerocart vulnerable to corrosion. The history of the aerocart
The first form of the aerocart can be traced back to ancient Greece. Thus there is evidence from the time around 400 BC on single- wheeled vehicles. Also in China of the third century, carts were used, but they had two wheels. In contrast to the carts of ancient Greece, the aerocart wheels were positioned in China under the center of gravity.
In the Middle Ages were also in Europe increasingly common aerocarts to use, probably at the time of the twelfth or thirteenth century. In earlier pictures, it can be seen that these aerocarts are probably a further development of the bearers. The wheel was relatively far from the start on the cart. Typical applications for these old aerocarts were mining, construction, and agriculture.
Especially in France, England and the Netherlands seem aerocarts to have been used until the 15th century into who was using but rather the exception. In earlier times, this European thrust or bucket aerocarts were predominantly made of wood. It was only in the 19th century that other materials were used. In 1822 an aerocart, made entirely of iron, existed. Around this time, the position of the wheel changed: Similar to the bar cars pulled by horses or mules with a drawbar, the aerocart wheel moved from the first point to the actual center of gravity of the load.
Since about 1950 the now lighter aerocarts have been equipped with an air- ripening system. Moreover, these models have a continuous sheet metal trough. They are suitable not only for general cargo, but also for loose cargo and for liquids.
The aerocarts of today are convincing by a consistently improved resistance to the weather.
