Choosing The Best Xiaomi Tablets

Remember when tablets were attempting to break into a smartphone-dominated market? Apple undoubtedly started the ball rolling by establishing an excellent demand for tablets with the iPad. The trend was advanced by companies such as Samsung, Amazon, and others that developed their versions of Android-powered tablets. Xiaomi, however, aimed to compete with Apple on its turf. The company’s Mi Pad lineup competed closely with the iPad in terms of design and overall form factor but lacked the iPad’s operating system.

In the past, the Xiaomi Mi Pad lineup has included some impressive tablets. In 2018, the Mi Pad 4 and Mi Pad 4 Plus were the most recent models in the series. More than two years have passed since Xiaomi announced the new Mi Pad. But that could soon change, as a new Mi Pad is expected to be released this year, the Mi Pad 5.

The Best Xiaomi Tablets In 2022

Xiaomi decided to enter the tablet market in 2014 with their first-generation Mi Pad, having already taken the smartphone industry by storm. Since then, Xiaomi has introduced four generations of the Mi Pad, with the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 being the most recent. In the world of technology, with the evolution of tablets, newer must always be better, right? The Mi Pad series contains a few surprises that contradict this common belief. Each Mi Pad has distinctive specifications that can be utilized for various purposes.

How do I select a Xiaomi Tablet?

Before spending several hundred dollars on a Xiaomi tablet, there are several factors to consider. For instance:

Given that a tablet is a cross between a computer and a smartphone. Before purchasing a device, it is essential to consider its display size. Now, while most would consider a perfect tablet to fit in the palm of your hand, you must also consider its primary purpose.

If sketching, movies, and entertainment are your top priority, you will benefit from a larger screen. However, if you’re using it for office work, you may be better off with an 8-inch screen.

Before purchasing a tablet, you must consider its internal components, including the CPU, GPU, RAM, and storage. This trumps everything else.

  • You must ensure that all internal components can assist you in completing your tasks.
  • I prefer a large amount of RAM regardless of the task, as it becomes crucial over time or if you intend to multitask.

Xiaomi’s latest mobile launch is the Pad 5 Pro (12.4-Inch). The tablet was launched in 11th August 2022. The tablet comes with a 12.4-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 2560 pixels by 1600 pixels at a PPI of 244 pixels per inch.

Xiaomi has introduced a new version of the Pad 5 Pro. Sold as the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4, the tablet has a larger display than its predecessor, making it more comparable to an iPad Pro 12.9 and a Galaxy Tab S8 Plus or Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra.

Furthermore, the Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G is considered to be the company’s most premium offering by far in 2022. With hardware specs like Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, Android v12, and enhanced battery capacity, the smartphone is definitely worth all the hype.

The 14-inch Xiaomi Pad 6 series may arrive as a competitor to the likes of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and the iPad Pro 2022. Hence, there is a possibility that the device could be called the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro / Ultra. A report from the past said that the same model might come with a Dimensity 9000 chipset.

Redmi India has announced that the Redmi Pad will launch on October 4 at 12 PM. Here is what leaks of the device have revealed so far. The Redmi Pad will launch at 4 PM on October 4, 2022, according to Redmi India. This will be the second tablet from Xiaomi’s brand overall.

The tablet offers many features that make it a great buy, such as the built-in stylus, the large writing area, and the LCD display. The tablet is also lightweight and portable, making it easy to take with you on the go. With so many great features, the Mi LCD Writing Tablet is a great value for the price.

The 9-9.5 inches tablets are the perfect size of an ideal tablet. Not only is it portable and lightweight, but it also features a large, clear display. The screen size is big enough to help you skim through eBooks and other documents without squinting your eyes.

Xiaomi's Obsession With All Apple Products

When the first Mi Pad was released, rumors circulated that it was a more affordable iPad. However, this was nothing new for Xiaomi; the company has notoriously copied Apple’s design and software since its inception.

The Mi Pad withstood the most rigorous scrutiny due to its name, which heavily echoed Apple’s tablet lineup. Apple even filed a lawsuit against Xiaomi over the Mi Pad’s moniker. The Cupertino giant accused Xiaomi of trademark theft. Apple filed an official complaint with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

Although EUIPO upheld the complaint, it did not prohibit Xiaomi from using the Mi Pad name in Europe and elsewhere. It only prevented Xiaomi from registering the name as a trademark due to striking similarities.

While the design of the Mi Pad was identical to that of the iPad, even the tablet’s forked version of the iOS/iPad operating system was clearly “inspired.”

Xiaomi has come a long way, and we can now observe the company experimenting with many non-Apple-inspired designs and software elements. However, the company maintains a similar design and form factor for its Mi Pads. The Mi Pad 4 lineup followed the same pattern, and now that the Mi Pad 5 is on the horizon, we are eager to see if it breaks the way. The Mi Pad 5 renders replicate the iPad’s design, but we have yet to see the official images. We better hold our judgments.

After a two-year absence, let’s observe Xiaomi’s re-entry into the tablet market. We will update this article as events unfold! Stay tuned for updates.
