10 Best Oppo phones 2022

In this buying guide, we have consulted with crast.net editors specializing in smartphones in addition to conducting our comparisons and analyses.

In some elections, there was unanimity, but in others, multiple options met the requirements.

1. Best Oppo Phone: Oppo Find X5 Pro

[content-egg module=AmazonNoApi template=item groups=”1″]

The Find X5 Pro is Oppo’s flagship device, and its position at the top of this list is well-deserved. Yes, it is expensive; this cannot be denied. However, you get the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 12GB RAM, 256GB storage, 80W wired, and 50W wireless charging.

The primary and ultrawide cameras share the same 50Mp sensor and offer nearly identical image quality, vibrant colors, an abundance of detail, and excellent dynamic range. Unfortunately, this camera has no periscopic lens, but the results are still impressive.

It’s a large, heavy phone, partly due to the ceramic back, and the design takes some getting used to, but it’s an excellent all-arounder that excels in every category.

This is not only Oppo’s best smartphone but also one of the best flagships on the market.

Specifications
  • Release Date: March 2022
  • Rear cameras: 50 MP f/1.7, 13 MP f/2.4, 50 MP, f/2.2 ultrawide

  • Dimensions: 163.7 x 73.9 x 8.5mm
  • Storage: 256GB / 512GB
PROS
  • Beautiful, unique design
  • Powerful camera
  • Brilliant display
  • Great 5-axis image stabilization
  • Excellent battery life
CONS
  • Big and heavy
  • No periscope lens
  • Expensive

2. Best Oppo phone for performance and affordability: OPPO Find X5

[content-egg module=AmazonNoApi template=item groups=”2″]

The Oppo Find X5 smartphone is one of Oppo’s three most recent releases, created in collaboration with the world-renowned camera manufacturer Hasselblad. The Find X5 packs a punch with its triple rear camera system, which differs from its elder sibling, the Oppo Find X5 Pro, by a negligible amount and is significantly less expensive.

This smartphone is a creative hub for photographers and content creators who enjoy experimenting, thanks to its innovative camera features such as Hasselblad’s Color Calibration (which runs only when the camera is in Pro Mode), Automatic Night mode, AI Scene Enhancement 2.0, LED flash, HDR, Auto HDR, Panorama, leaf shutter sound, and Xpan mode.

Overall, the Oppo Find X5 is an outstanding smartphone with a tremendously impressive camera and robust operating system. The night video shooting and Ultra 4K video features were cutting-edge, but unless you’re an astrophotographer, it can be difficult to find regular use for night shooting. What more could you want from an Android device? The device performs admirably and has a great camera and battery life.

Specifications
  • Release date: March 2022
  • Weight: 196g
  • Dimensions: 160.3 x 72.6 x 8.7mm

  • Resolution: 1080 x 2400
  • CPU: Snapdragon 888
  • RAM: 8/12GB
  • Storage: 128GB/256GB
  • Battery: 4,800mAh
  • Rear camera: 50MP + 13MP + 50MP
  • Front camera: 32MP
PROS
  • Automatic Night mode
  • Excellent triple camera system
  • Reasonably priced
CONS

  • Not waterproof or dustproof
  • Average image stabilization

3. Most affordable Oppo superzoom smartphone: Oppo Reno 10X Zoom

[content-egg module=AmazonNoApi template=item groups=”3″]

The maximum zoom range of the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom edition is 130mm, allowing you to get closer to your subject, and it generally captures excellent images. Our review found it a versatile and hard-working smartphone with a few quirks, though the video quality wasn’t as impressive. This smartphone, which was released in 2019, may be a little behind the others in this guide, but that should not disqualify it from consideration as one of the best Oppo phones.

This phone was the first mainstream flagship from Oppo to be released in the United Kingdom. Despite this, it has been a major player in China for decades. Oppo Reno 10X Zoom edition surpasses the competition by undercutting its competitor at the time, the Huawei P30 Pro (opens in a new tab). Using similar periscopic technology as Oppo, the P30 Pro can achieve a 125mm telephoto range, slightly less than Oppo.

Overall, the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom edition is an excellent still camera with a tremendous zoom range for capturing crisp images of otherwise background elements in a snap. The device has a beautiful and immersive screen, despite not being the sharpest on the market, but it is also extremely sturdy and well-built, providing a fantastic in-hand feel.

Specifications
  • Release Date: June 2019
  • Rear cameras: 48 MP f/1.7, 13 MP f/3.0, 8 MP f/2.2 ultrawide
  • Front camera: 16 MP f/2.0 (Motorized pop-up)
  • OIS: Yes
  • Weight: 210 g
  • Dimensions: 162 x 77.2 x 9.3 mm
  • Storage: 128GB / 256GB
PROS
  • Versatile camera system
  • Excellent zoom for photos
  • Gorgeously immersive screen
CONS
  • Optical zoom inaccessible in video
  • Plenty of bloatware
  • Selfie camera collects dust

4. The quad-camera flagship smartphone: Oppo Find X3 Pro 5G

[content-egg module=AmazonNoApi template=item groups=”4″]

The Oppo Find X3 Pro 5G impresses its high-resolution wide-angle lens and novelty microscope but falls short in telephoto and zoom capabilities, diminishing its overall photographic credibility. Oppo went out of its way to be unique with the Find X3 Pro by incorporating several design elements that make it stand out.

The four rear lenses are housed in a sculptural camera unit made of an innovative single piece of glass located at the top left of the phone’s rear. This resembles a work of modern art, with its neo-brutalist bump and impressive form and function, as we stated in last year’s review of the device.

The Oppo Find X3 Pro’s 525ppi AMOLED display’s ability to display one billion different colors makes for a pleasant viewing experience. The 6.7 screen is large and beautiful, sitting like a giant infinity pool on the front of the device. The phone’s charging capability is impressive, providing a full charge in 84 minutes with a 10W reverse charge option.

There is much to like about the Oppo Find X3 Pro 5G, but its release price was a bit too high for us to justify the purchase. If you’re not put off by the slightly unusual, curved design and can find a good deal, you should purchase the Oppo Find X3 Pro for its excellent display and quad-camera system.

Specifications
  • Release Date: March 2021
  • Rear cameras: 50 MP f/1.8, 13 MP f/2.4, 50 MP f/2.2 ultrawide, 3 MP f/3.0 microscope
  • Front camera: 32 MP
  • IOS: Yes
  • Weight: 193 g
  • Dimensions: 163.6 x 74 x 8.3 mm
  • Storage: 256GB / 512GB
PROS
  • Two 50-megapixel rear cameras
  • Super speedy charging
  • Quality 120Hz 6.7in OLED screen
CONS
  • High price
  • Unusual design
  • Disappointing telephoto power

5. Oppo's best budget 5G camera phone: Oppo A54 5G

[content-egg module=AmazonNoApi template=item groups=”5″]

The Oppo A54 is a super-affordable 5G phone made from the same material as the Realme 8 5G and Redmi Note 10 5G, both of which were released simultaneously. This phone is only a little over a year old and lacks the latest features that current Oppo flagships offer. Still, for such a great price, it has the makings of an excellent smartphone for those on a budget and is one of the only 5G budget phones on the market with an ultra-wide-angle camera.

The storage capacity of this Oppo phone, with a maximum of 128GB and a minimum of 64GB, is a minor flaw, given the larger size of most apps and data backups that cannot be transferred to external storage. The handset has a microSD card slot, allowing you to expand its storage with a card, if necessary, a feature that some flagship phones no longer provide with their most recent models.

While the Oppo A54’s processor and charging speeds lag slightly behind the competition, this is undoubtedly one of the best 5G budget camera phones currently available, boasting a refined interface, 90Hz refresh rate, stellar battery life, and a fantastic 48MP primary camera. We found it an excellent low-cost option for anyone who requires fast mobile internet and a durable phone.

Specifications
  • Release Date: April 2021
  • Rear cameras: 48 MP f/1.7, 8 MP f/2.2 ultrawide, 2 MP f/2.4 macro, 2 MP f/2.4 depth
  • Front camera: 16MP
  • OIS: No
  • Weight: 190 g
  • Dimensions: 162.9 x 74.7 x 8.4 mm
  • Storage: 64GB / 128GB
PROS
  • Includes ultra-wide camera
  • Great battery life
  • 5G on a budget
  • microSD card slot
CONS
  • Only 64GB storage
  • Poor macro camera
  • Can get more power for the price

6. The Oppo Find X2 Pro is a "smartphone champ": Oppo Find X2 Pro

[content-egg module=AmazonNoApi template=item groups=”6″]

The Oppo Find X2 Pro is unbeatable if you’re looking for a device with a fantastic screen and a stellar camera that captures realistic images with tapered saturation, ample zoom, storage, and rapid charging. This smartphone, released two years ago, may not be able to compete with the latest flagship specifications and ultra-fast wireless charging, but it has a camera phone that will blow your mind.

Oppo had exclusive access to Sony’s 48MP sensor before the release of this smartphone, which is a huge deal. Additionally, the triple rear camera features a 13MP periscope camera with 10x hybrid zoom and 60x digital zoom. In addition, the camera system features a 48MP primary sensor camera with an f/1.7 lens and a high-resolution 48MP ultra-wide camera with an IMX586 sensor and an f/2.2 lens.

The Find X2 Pro provides numerous shooting modes, including Portrait, Night, Pano, Expert, Time-lapse, Text Scanner, and Slow-mo, through an expanded menu. In addition to controlling ISO up to 6400 and shutter speed up to 32 seconds, the phone’s expert mode enables 12-bit RAW capture, which is uncommon among mobile devices.

With 5G as standard, the Oppo Find X2 Pro will likely rank among the top 5G smartphones (opens in new tab). We recommended this smartphone as one of the best camera phones of the year in 2020. Now that its price has decreased, it would make an excellent photography companion for those seeking high-quality images at an affordable price.

Specifications
  • Release Date: March 2020
  • Rear cameras: 48 MP f/1.7, 13 MP f/3.0, 48 MP f/2.2 ultrawide
  • Front camera: 32 MP f/2.4
  • OIS: Yes
  • Weight: 217 g
  • Dimensions: 65.2 x 74.4 x 8.8 mm
  • Storage: 256GB / 512GB
PROS
  • Excellent camera
  • 5G as standard
  • Class-leading charging
CONS
  • No wireless charging
  • No headphone jack
  • Expensive when released

7. Best mid-range Oppo phone: Oppo Reno 8 Pro

[content-egg module=AmazonNoApi template=item groups=”7″]

The Reno 8 Pro was released at the end of August as the most recent addition to Oppo’s lineup of smartphones. It offers impressive performance, a brilliant OLED display, and a striking design at a slightly more affordable price than the Oppo Find X5 Pro.

According to Oppo, this phone is designed with creativity, so it has a great camera. For a midrange smartphone, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro’s shooting capabilities stand out. It can capture 4K video and uses MariSilicon X image processing to enhance the color and clarity of your images.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro is available online and in-store UK retailers. If you purchase a Reno 8 Pro before September 28th, you will receive a free Oppo Pad Air tablet worth $239.

Specifications
  • Supported Network Bands: 5G/4G/3G/2G
  • Storage: 256GB 12GB RAM
  • Display: 6.7 inches, 108.0 cm2 (~90.3% screen-to-body ratio) AMOLED, 1B colors, 120Hz, HDR10+, 500 nits (typ), 800 nits (HBM), 950 nits (peak)
  • Platform: Android 12, ColorOS 12.1
  • Camera: 50 MP, f/1.8, 23mm (wide), 1/1.56″, 1.0µm, multi-directional PDAF
  • Battery: Li-Po 4500 mAh, non-removable
PROS
  • Great screen
  • Strong main camera
  • Speedy fast-charging
CONS
  • Overly glossy rear panel
  • Weaker secondary cameras

8. Also great: OPPO Find X3 Neo 5G

[content-egg module=AmazonNoApi template=item groups=”8″]

Even though the Find X3 Neo is a year old, it packs a powerful punch, and its hardware can compete with any 2022 top-tier midrange. Due to its age, it is available at a substantial discount. It is more premium than the Reno 7 5G, with an aluminum frame and front and back Gorilla Glass 5 panels. You receive a large 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a maximum brightness of 1100 nits. The Find X3 Neo is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, which, despite being two years old at this point, is still quite powerful and can effortlessly handle intensive gaming and demanding tasks. Additionally, you receive a massive 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage.

The Find X3 Neo is equipped with a versatile camera system consisting of a 50MP primary shooter, a 13MP telephoto lens, and a 2MP macro lens. On the front of the device is a 32MP selfie camera. Under the hood, the phone features a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging, allowing the phone to be fully charged in only 35 minutes. The Find X3 ships with ColorOS 11, which is based on Android 11, but ColorOS 12 can be upgraded. Overall, the Find X3 is a great mid-range smartphone, but it’s a bit pricey for a phone with a two-year-old chipset and a design identical to the 2020 Reno 5 Pro Plus. The OnePlus 9 base model in the United Kingdom is available for the same price with a faster Snapdragon 888 chipset and a better display.

Specifications
  • 50MP Ultra HD Quad Rear Cameras + 32MP Front Camera
  • 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Fast Charging
  • Powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Processor
  • Colour : Black
PROS
  • Versatile camera
  • Slim glass and metal design
  • Super-fast charging
CONS
  • Uses last year’s top processor
  • No water-resistance rating or wireless charging
  • Pointless macro camera

9. Best affordable Oppo phone: Oppo A96

[content-egg module=AmazonNoApi template=item groups=”9″]

The Oppo A Series offers a more affordable selection of smartphones, with the A96 currently occupying the top spot. At the time of writing, it is discounted from £229 to £135 on Very, which is a great deal.

It features a large 5000mAh battery and 33W SuperVooc fast charging to keep you energized, and a 90Hz refresh rate display. This is no longer top-of-the-line, but it is superior to some excellent smartphones, such as the Google Pixel 6a.

Specifications
  • Dual-SIM, Network Compatibility
  • 6.43 inches, OLED, 1080 x 2400 pixels
  • 128GB Storage, 8GB RAM, microSDXC
  • Android 11, Qualcomm SM6375 Snapdragon 695 5G (6 nm), Octa-core (2×2.2 GHz Kryo 660 Gold & 6×1.7 GHz Kryo 660 Silver)
  • 48 MP, f/1.7, 26mm (wide), PDAF, 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth), Front, 16 MP, f/2.4, 27mm (wide), 1.0µm
PROS
  • Excellent camera
  • 5G as standard
  • Class-leading charging
CONS
  • No wireless charging
  • No headphone jack
  • Expensive when released

10. The midrange Oppo with fast charging: Oppo Reno 4 Pro

[content-egg module=AmazonNoApi template=item groups=”10″]

With the same rear camera setup as the Oppo A54 5G (number five on our list), this Oppo handset does not offer anything particularly flashy in terms of a competent camera setup. However, the 32MP front-facing camera is superior to the A54’s 16MP front-facing camera.

The Oppo Reno 4 Pro is one of the thinnest smartphones available, combining thinness with a premium design and a stunning display. At the time of its release, this device was the most expensive Snapdragon 765G phone that did not feature a folding screen. This is even though it is certainly not devoid of highlights.

Launched alongside the Reno 4 and Reno 4Z, the Reno 4 Pro is the flagship model of this family, featuring a stunningly large display and incredibly rapid charging (65W, or 40 minutes for a full charge). The Oppo Reno 4 Pro also features impressive stereo speakers and a stunning screen to deliver a fantastic multimedia experience. Thanks to its well-oiled interface, the Reno 4 Pro is a pleasure to use.

This device makes up for its lack of flagship specifications with its flawlessly thin design and excellent display quality. Another contender for best budget Oppo phone, this device could provide everything you need at a reasonable price if you can overlook the mediocre camera compared to the most recent Oppo smartphones, such as the Find X5 and X5 Pro models, which feature exceptional cameras.

Specifications
  • Release Date: August 2020
  • Rear cameras: 48 MP f/1.7, 8 MP f/2.2 ultrawide, 2 MP f/2.4 macro, 2 MP f/2.4 depth
  • Front camera: 32 MP
  • OIS: No
  • Weight: 161 g
  • Dimensions: 160.2 x 73.2 x 7.7 mm
  • Storage: 128GB / 256GB
PROS
  • Beautifully thin and tapered design
  • Charges in under 40 minutes
  • Lots of storage
CONS
  • Low horsepower for gaming
  • Competent, not class-leading camera
  • Expensive

Factors To Choose The Best Oppo Phones

OPPO was one of the last brands of the colossal BBK to arrive in Spain, and it did so by stomping the competition with an extensive selection of mobile phones for all price points. Its strategy, like other Chinese manufacturers, is to provide high-quality features at an affordable price, but which OPPO phone should you buy? Which one best suits me? We clear up the mystery surrounding OPPO to help you find the ideal OPPO phone for your needs and budget.

OPPO mobile phones are distinguished by:

  • Between 4,000 and 5,000 mAh batteries with a lightning-fast fast charge for your range. The Find X5 and X5 Pro support up to 80W of SuperVOOC charging, whereas mid-range models have a competent power supply of up to 65W.
  • Except for the most basic ranges (OPPO A1X – OPPO A3X – OPPO A5X), the OPPO technical sheet highlights the screen’s AMOLED panels, refresh rates of at least 90Hz, and excellent resolutions.
  • They excel in hardware at the storage and RAM levels, especially in the entry-level segment. The Chinese company offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space, whereas other brands only offer 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space.
  • The operating system of OPPO phones is ColorOS, which is already Color OS 12. This Android layer, which gains stability and performance with each update, is distinguished by its extensive customization options.

FAQs

Majority of the time, yes. Oppo, like any other company, has its hits and misses, but overall the quality of its devices, especially its flagships like the Find X5 Pro, is excellent. Its less expensive phones are reliable, but they tend to be pricier than competitors with comparable specifications.

Oppo is best known for its impressive camera and displays technology, as well as its rapid charging, so if these are your top priorities, you should strongly consider an Oppo smartphone.

Every Oppo smartphone runs Android and is topped with the company’s ColorOS skin. This is one of our favorite Android skins due to its excellent balance of customizability and usability.

Yes. A US trade embargo has forced Huawei, another Chinese phone manufacturer, to sell phones without Google software. You may have heard of Huawei. But Oppo has neither of these restrictions nor any reason to believe it will work in the future.

Xiaomi, the other giant Chinese smartphone manufacturer, currently enjoying success on the global market, is likely Oppo’s chief competitor. Xiaomi phones typically offer specifications comparable to Oppo’s, sometimes at lower prices, but we prefer Oppo’s software.

Oppo is a subsidiary of BBK, a tech conglomerate that owns other phone manufacturers. Realme and OnePlus share R&D with Oppo and run similar software, so if you like the concept of an Oppo phone, you should also consider Realme and OnePlus. Vivo is also a subsidiary of BBK, but it has its research and development facilities, so its phones are more distinct.

Oppo phones are not sold in the United States or Canada, but this is not due to a ban. Instead, Oppo chooses not to sell smartphones in the United States because it is a tough market currently dominated by Apple and Samsung, making it difficult for even the most prominent foreign companies to enter.

OnePlus, Oppo’s sister company, does sell phones in North America, so if you can’t find anything from Oppo, you should try a OnePlus phone.

Huawei’s brand is ranked #707 in the list of Global Top 1000 Brands, as rated by customers of Huawei. OPPO’s brand is ranked #983 in the list of Global Top 1000 Brands, as rated by customers of OPPO.

Each of the best Oppo phones stand out thanks to their vibrant use of colors and useful features. These range from great battery life to reliable camera capabilities, along with excellent performance, and even quirky features like a pop-up camera.

OPPO is a subsidiary brand of BBK Electronics – the third-largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. BBK Electronics shipped a grand total of 199.3 million handsets worldwide in 2017, just behind giants Apple and Samsung who shipped 215.8 million and 317.7 million respectfully.

Moreover, the OPPO phones are higher priced than the competition because the company lacks an in-house processor. This means OPPO has to rely heavily on semiconductor suppliers like MediaTek or Qualcomm for chipsets to power its phones.

Best OPPO Phones 2022: Our Recommendation

According to its phone specifications and OPPO phone reviews, despite being a budget phone manufacturer, OPPO does not compromise on quality. New OPPO phone users are pleasantly surprised by their smartphones’ overall performance and durability, especially considering how reasonably priced they are compared to other popular phone brands. If you’re in the market for a new smartphone and would prefer not to reduce the size of your wallet drastically, a new OPPO phone may be the best option.
