The Nerf Sidestrike is a Nerf Gun from the Zombie Strike series and comes along with a holster to keep her handy at all times. This small side-nerf gun is a front loader, spring loaded and therefore does not need any batteries. Of course, like a single-shot blaster, she does not approach fly-wheel-driven full-automatic, but she should not. The Sidestrike is rather the last means, which one behind HVZ (Human versus Zombie) behind the back and then the surprised green monster so correctly.
- Simple operation
- Cheap in the price
- Additional holster
- Only usable as a secondary blaster
- Average performance
Ergonomics and performance of Sidestrike
The Nerf Gun is simple to use (arming by retracting the barrel), stable and comes in the usual Zombie Strike colors, therefore. Only the brown as Grifffarbe does not tell us (this is however to taste). Equipped with rear sight and grain and a Tactical Rail, to push on accessories, the Nerf Sidetsrike offers a few basics, but more than a low-budget blaster is not.
Ergonomics and performance are good, the holster can use both left and right hands, and all elements of the Sidestrike are easy to reach for different hand sizes. Also, two darts can be inserted below the mouth as a reserve, as well as four additional darts directly on the outside of the holster (either standard or the elite arrows).
What did not like us so much in the holster is the stability of the plugging system. This is designed so that it can be pushed over a belt, a trouser or pocket and is therefore not closed. This is good for children because they can make the holster much easier, but you are already sacrificing some fixation strength. So you should not beat somersaults. When using the Tactical Rail, you can not push the Nerf Gun into the holster. The Western hero among us is said that you can shoot with holster, but only if the Nerf Gun is already sharp.
The performance for the Zombie Strike Sidestrike is good for their make; they come on a little more than 10 meters when shooting on shoulder height and slightly more than 12 meters at the angled shot. Since the Nerf Sidetrike is a single fire blaster, the fire rate as expected is not breathtaking but okay with about one dart the second – here the quality of the shooter is decisive.
On the other hand, the flight speed of the darts is about 21 meters / second, the darts remain stable. Nevertheless, we had as with all Nerf Guns also outliers with up to one meter. Therefore, our biggest criticism is the price, comparable Nerf guns (such as the Firestrike) cost slightly less. On the other hand, you also get a holster at the Sidestrike.
Conclusion to the blaster
The Nerf Sidestrike is a blaster which fulfills its purpose – who would like for sensitive situations a Nebenarmung would like to grasp calmly. The performance is okay and the handling even better than we thought – you can not go wrong with this blaster.
