One of the most impressive blasters is surely the Nerf Rhino Fire, which we would like to introduce you more precisely. There is no Nerf Gun that resembles the Rhino Fire in its firepower and violence. Among all the Nerf weapons (except for the Hail-Fire ), there is no other one with whom you can load 50 rounds. Or do you know one? We do not. Whatever, let’s go!

Big, loud, powerful – the Nerf Rhino-Fire on the test!
Not long ago, it is as Hasbro speculation about a new mega-blaster, later known by the name N-Strike Elite XD Nerf Rhino-Fire, fueled. The Nerf Rhino-Fire is a fully automatic double-floor blaster with a capacity of 50 darts and a range of over 25 meters! Regarding appearance, she is just GEIL- she looks like a flak, an anti-aircraft blaster.
Another voll automatic blaster – the Vulcan EBF-25 – already had 25 darts in the ammunition belt. With its 50 darts, the Rhino Fire seems unattainable. But we can also show you the other features such as fire rate, accuracy, and range, in this review.
Design and ergonomics of the Rhino
The Nerf Rhino-Fire is big, almost huge! In size hardly surpassed, it is nevertheless hardly much longer than the Vulcan. Even if it appears to be the first, you can see clearly when you put both blasters side by side. Regarding width, however, the Rhino Fire is of course much bigger – the Vulcan has no chance against the two Blaster drums. The design may also remind you a little bit of the Star Wars world – it has a certain resemblance to the blasters used there. Overall, this blaster looks cool, maybe a bit provocative, but it’s also about a blaster😉
Ergonomically, the Nerf Rhino-Fire is just as unwieldy as it looks. Because of the size and the weight, by the 6 D batteries, even more, you need both hands to use them. This can sometimes be difficult in hot nerf games. As a rule, however, a stand/tripod is also included in the package on which you can place the Rhino. This is the best way to build a defensive position. The Nerf arrows are fired with two deductions. Fortunately, there is also a trigger that can fire the arrows from both drums at the same time.
Handling and performance
Charging the 2 x 25 drums of the Nerf N-Strike Rhino Fire can take some time. But once that is done, the firing is just fun! This beast is damn loud – probably the loudest blaster we’ve ever had in our fingers. The volume can be both advantages and disadvantages at the same time. For one thing, you betray your position, which is not necessarily an advantage. On the other hand, you can draw the attention of others, but also deliberately, to protect your opponents.
In the usual categories, the RhinoFire is neither much better nor worse than other Nerf Blasters. When the darts were fired at an angle, we reached a narrow range of 24 meters, and this distance the darts returned in a little more than a second. The speed of the Nerf arrows is a good average, while the range is comparatively good compared to other Nerf blasters.
In such a blaster, however, especially the fire rate is interesting. We could fire every 50 arrows within about 25 seconds. This means an arrow per drum per drum. There are some other blasters that can have better fire rates. Because of the two drum magazines, the expectations may have been high, and some fans have therefore been disappointed. On the other hand, two arrows per second are still very much and also leaves a little air for target corrections.
And where we are talking about accuracy. With the Nerf N-Strike Elite XD RhinoFire, you will have to make corrections here and there, as the arrows sometimes fly everywhere but not necessarily wherever you go. However, we believe that it is less on the blaster than on the darts. This has already been shown in other blasters, that it seems as if the inaccuracy is due to the projectiles. This could also be the reason that we seldom reach the specified maximum range. With some modification, better results could be possible.
In general, we find the Rhino Fire very well. Nevertheless, due to the complexity of the blaster – the two drum magazines, the two arrows, the recoil effect, the mechanical element, which make the blaster work first, one has to reckon with one or the other problem. So we had to realize besides the partial inaccuracy, that it happened now and then, that only a Pfeillauf has shot down arrows – not often, but now and then. Still, it did not stop us from having lots of fun with this blaster!
80-100 euros is not a cheap fun and compared to some other painters; the Rhino-Fire seems quite expensive. We have tested Blaster, which you get for 20-30 euros and so the question remains open: Does the Nerf Rhino Fire bring four times the fun (4 × 20 EUR)? Probably not, especially since neither the range nor the fire rate is significantly above that of the other blaster. But to put it dry, can all these factors be measured? We think there is more. The Rhino-Fire is something special and above all something for real fans. However, the Rhino is already a bit difficult to carry them across the field, if you need to move quickly from one place to another. But for this, it is the best way to set up a defensive position – for example, the Capture the Flag is unbeatable.
Small tip: You should not use the Rhino at night if you do not just want to provoke anger with your neighbors because you have just woken them up 😉
