Review of the Nerf N-Strike Elite Rampage

The Nerf Rampage – Wow, what a nerf gun!

As you can easily see in the figures of our rating, the Nerf Rampage is one of the absolute top blasters among the nerf guns. And also it is also one of our favorites! One or the other, the design will be familiar. Right, the Raider CS-35 from the N-Strike series looks pretty damn similar to the Nerf Rampage, and this is because the Rampage is the successor of the Raider from 2008. Of course, there are also a few differences (would be bad, if after four years nothing had changed/improved), which we singled out in our test report.

Design and ergonomics of the Rampage

The Nerf Rampage was, despite great popularity, initially only integrated into two series. On the one hand, you can find them in the N-Strike Elite series in the typical colors white, blue, orange as well as light and dark gray. On the other hand, it has also been launched in the Sonic ICE series, in which it is designed in clear blue, white and orange.

On top of the Rampage, you will find 2 Tactical Rails on which you can put your favorite Nerf accessories on. The successor to the Raider CS-35 has equipped again with a drum magazine, on which the N-Strike Elite logo is printed. This, however, in contrast to the CS-35 “only” 25 darts and has a slightly different look. However, it is also inserted into the blaster (left). On the opposite right is the Jam Door, in case of jammed darts sneak in – rather rarely the case and only applies, if one it with the Rapid-Fire (fast firing) something exaggerates.

A clear minus in contrast to the predecessor is the missing shoulder rest in the package. Although there is the appropriate approach where you can attach a support, it is not included in the package. A consolation for all Raider owners is, however, that they can attach the same shoulder support also to the Nerf Rampage. This is also customizable to your size.

By placing the magazine sideways, the center of gravity of the Nerf Gun moves slightly to the left side. Correspondingly, you must keep it. However, the weight is slightly lighter than with the Raider, as the magazine is slightly smaller and carries fewer darts. Why Hasbro designed the magazine attachment on the side of the Rampage can only be surmised. We assume that they have done it for the sake of optics. At least we see no other reason.

Otherwise, the Nerf Rampage is excellent in hand. In the trigger handle, there is also a little surprise, because you can also hide a reserve style. So if you have stuck your magazine in a nerf battle, you can save an elite dart possibly even the fight😉

Handling and performance

What we want to emphasize is the accuracy of the Nerf Rampage – even at a great distance. So if you meet or not, it is up to your abilities, and since you are professionals, we are also quite confident that you will always meet🙂

Regarding reach, we were able to reach a top score of 25 meters (with an angled posture). This is the absolute maximum value. Imagine an average range of about 22 meters. When you’re just standing, you get to about 17/18 meters. Now and then there are also some outliers, who are flung to the ground at about 10 meters. But that too is the exception.

To take your opponents or even the neighbors really under fire, you have to keep the trigger pressed (!) And the front grip simply as usual and move forward. The darts then fly out of the case as quickly as you can control the forward/back movement. Do not overdo it too much, however, because if you strain the mode too much, this increases the risk of jammed darts.

optics

The design of the Nerf Rampage is very exclusive and is most likely to be seen as a combination of MG and Nerf Shotgun. This Blaster is lined with a large drum magazine, from the side. Under the front is also a front grip, which is also used for tensioning. Hasbro saved the shoulder-rest here but delivered the appropriate dock. The flap for the elimination of load inhibitions can be found on the side, opposite the magazine. In color, there are no special features, and so the Nerf Rampage also shines in the usual white/blue / orange look. Overall, we would sort the Rampage into the category of Nerf rifles.

Technology

Also inside the Nerf Rampage is a simple and very reliable direct piston. The blaster comes without batteries and is tensioned by repeating the front grip. The fact that this Nerf Gun supports the SlamFire function, which means that when you pull the trigger several times forward and backward, the dart will be shot in fast succession. The faster you repeat, the higher the shooting frequency.

Modding

Two tactical tracks are available to the rifleman on this blaster: one on the top, directly on the handle and trigger, and one on the front. Furthermore, a cord can be attached to the handle, and a shoulder rest can be locked at the rear part – Eg the Nerf Retaliator very well.

Tuning

With a new spring and the appropriate guide sleeve (must also be installed. Otherwise the blaster can take damage!) Of Blasterparts can also the Nerf Rampage tune properly. The speed and the range can be significantly increased. All the information is here as always: Nerf Tuning.

Fun / Conclusion

The Nerf Rampage is one of the right, really good Nerf Guns! It offers two fire modes (slamfire and single shot) a good handling, super performance and looks obendrein also still really schnieke out. Especially the magazine, which can hold up to 25 foam arrows, is a decisive advantage for you to keep the upper hand in Nerf Battles! Imagine your opponents need to reload after six shots. When they see you with the Nerf Rampage, they will think it over again to face you or give up right away😉
