How To Clean Pet Stains From Clothes - Explained Step By Step

Everyone knows them - unsightly yellow spots, which are caused by the use of Deo quickly on clothes. However, some simple tips make it easier to remove the stains - so the clothes can continue to be worn and look back as new.

Materials

Depending on whether the spots are on light or dark clothes, different materials are needed for removal.

For dark clothes

    • Clean makeup sponge from the drugstore
    • Citric acid or acetic acid

For light clothes

    • baking powder

Color test

Whether you want to remove stains from light or dark clothing - first carry out a color test at a small place in the dress. Apply the method and check if the process affects the color of the dress. Without such a test there is a risk that clothing will fade.

To remove stains from dark clothes

First, you can try to remove the stains with a makeup sponge. Just rub in circular movements with a clean makeup sponge over the affected area. The aluminum particles, which cause the discoloration, are removed from the textile by the surface of the makeup sponge. If this method does not work, the use of citric acid is recommended.

  • Fill the basin with cold water and add about three tablespoons of citric acid.
  • Now the clothing is soaked - this process should take about an hour.
  • After that, the garment is washed as usual. The stains should then have disappeared.
Alternatively acetic acid can also be used.

Remove stains from bright clothes

Stains are often more stubborn in bright clothes - in this case, baking powders can be used.

  • Fill the sink with cold water and add the baking soda.
  • Soak the garment for about an hour.
  • Afterwards, wash the garment as usual.
The stains should then have disappeared.

To avoid stains

The annoying yellow or whitish stains can be avoided by choosing the right deodorant. Deo-licks are formed whenever a deo containing aluminum is used. The corporeal perspiration, which is also separated out during the utilization of a deodorant, reacts chemically with the active ingredient aluminum oxychloride and then forms the unsightly discolorations. If you choose a Deo that does not contain aluminum, there is no chemical reaction either - the discolouration does not occur.

This saves the costly cleaning of the textiles. Does without aluminum are now available at fair prices in every drugstore.
